Property description:
The spacious apartment is on the first floor of an antique town
house in the middle of the old town of Borgomaro. The apartment
can be reached via a staircase. From here two entrances lead to
the apartment. One could easily be walled up or permanently
sealed if necessary. One entrance leads directly into the living
room, the second directly into the kitchen. The bright living
room leads to the other rooms: two bedrooms, the bathroom and
the kitchen. The apartment also has a very large storage room.
There are windows in all rooms, so that the apartment is
always bright and flooded with light. All rooms have very
beautiful vaulted ceilings, well-preserved antique tiles and
many other beautiful details. From the living room and the
bedrooms you can see a picturesque - and typical for Liguria -
alley, the so-called "caruggio".
This property is for
everyone who loves and appreciates the charm of old houses. The
apartment needs to be renovated, but it would be advisable not
to destroy the ancient structures. Since only the facade of the
building is a listed building, changes to the interior can be
implemented without any problems.
The property also
includes a so-called "cantina", a very spacious and dry basement
on the ground floor. This room can be used for storing wood and
pellets or as a bicycle/motorcycle garage.
Equipment
The apartment has electricity, water - and sewage pipes. In
addition, two wood stoves are already installed: one in the
living room and one in the kitchen. A gas line can be laid
without any problems.
All floors are made of high quality
antique tiles.
The apartment was inhabited only recently,
so it is not a ruin and can be used during the renovation phase.
The house has two floors, the upper floor is occupied by a
nice Italian family.
The monument protection only applies
to the facade. Changes can easily be made to the interior.
Optionally, olive groves in the neighboring valley can also
be purchased for the property.
Location
The town of Borgomaro is a small medieval Ligurian summerdream
with plenty of ancient houses which are standing in a labyrinth
of streets and paths. Everything is still very authentic and
good but fortunately no "open air museum".
The place is
located in Maro Valley, divided by the river Impero. The quite
large river is adorned with greenery and is winding elegantly
through the countryside, where it forms a rippling waterfall and
some romantic pools. In summertime you can go swimming here. It
is a welcome alternative to the beaches. The place is peaceful
and very down to earth. There are several small shops, a
pharmacy, a post office, a bar and various restaurants.
Recently, the very nice upper class hotel "Relais Maro" was
opened. Up to Imperia it is 15 km, the route runs partly on a
well-constructed expressway, so you can be on the beach quite
quickly.
